Salsathon
On Saturday 21st April, 60 dancers took part in the Bromley Salsathon 2012 to raise funds for Bromley Mind and another local charity, the Burgess Autistic Trust. The sponsored event, which took place amongst the bustling Glades Shopping Centre, was organised by local dance school, Bromley Salsa, with two Bromley Mind employees, Becky Singleton, Finance Officer and Mark Waters from Facilities taking part who both raised close to £500 individual sponsorship.
The event was a great success, with over £6,000 being raised so far, both from online fundraising and collections on the day. Sponsorship is still being collected, so the estimated total is expected to be close to £8,000-£10,000. The event also brought some press interest, with features being included in both New Shopper and Bromley Times this week.
…“What a fabulous fun- filled way to raise money. It was SO worth the aching legs and feet!! Massive well done to Mark Waters and Sarah Liddy for organsing such a brilliant event. The Glades shoppers seemed to have enjoyed the day and were very generous with their donations. Thank you to everyone involved and please keep donating until 31 May 2012!” – Becky Singleton
