Launch of New MiniBus for MindCare
15 September 2011
MindCare’s new minibus was launched on 14th September at the St. Paul’s Cray Support Centre at Giggs Hill Church.
The fundraising appeal for our new bus was launched in 2008 by our Patron Lord Nicholas Windsor and it took 3 years to raise the necessary funds with all donations gratefully received, large and small. Some of those who donated attended the launch.
Councillor John Ince attended the Launch and “Cut The Ribbon” on the Minibus and praised the work that staff do at the Dementia Support Centres.
Currently about 60 people attend the two St. Paul’s Wood MindCare Centres and rely on the minibus each week to get them to the Dementia Centres.

Help For Carers of People with Dementia
6 June 2011
Thanks to a grant from Mind, people supporting a relative can now benefit from training designed to improve their knowledge of dementia and help them care more effectively as the disease progresses. The training is being offered in small groups, where there are opportunities to meet others in a similar situation, or in the carers’ own homes.
The training is provided by MindCare Dementia Support, which is celebrating 25 years of specialist dementia care this year.
